Searching your MLS Database

Top Connector subscribers can use the MLS Search functionality to pull information directly from their MLS database into Top Producer 8i when creating listing records or adding comparables into a presentation.

Open the MLS Search screen. How?
To import a comparable when adding a listing:
1. From the Main Menu bar, go to Listings > Add Listing.
2. In the top section of the Add Listing form, click the MLS Number Look-up link.
To import comparables while creating a presentation:
- From the Main Menu bar, go to Marketing > Create Presentation.
The Create Presentation wizard opens. The MLS Search screen is Step 3 of the wizard.
Use the MLS drop-down list to select the MLS you want to search and import from.

Note: You can search only one MLS at a time and only the Top Connector MLS accounts configured on your 3rd Party Setup tab will appear as options in your MLS Search screen.
Define your search criteria and click the Search MLS button. The search fields available from the MLS search screen are determined on a per-MLS basis.

Tip: When using the MLS search to find comparables for a Presentation, the recommended workflow is to perform the search and selection process separately for every status type you want included in the finished presentation, rather than trying to perform a single search that will locate comparables of every status.

The MLS Search Results screen appears.
Preview the listing details of each property by clicking the property address; a pop-up opens displaying all of that listing's available information and the default photo for the listing.
If you accessed the MLS Search screen from the Add Listing flow:
1. Select a single listing.
2. Click the Select Listing button to return to the Add Listing form.
If you accessed the MLS Search screen from the Create CMA/ HMR/ Buyer Presentation flows:

Select the check boxes for all of the properties you want to use, or select the check box in the header to select all properties.
To view pictures for the selected properties, click the Get Pictures button. You can hover over the picture for a larger preview.
Click the Next button. You can then add more comparables and finish creating your presentation.

Close your MLS board software and sign in to Top Producer 8i.

- From the Main Menu bar, go to Marketing > Create Presentation.

In the Select MLS data file section, click Browse to load the file you saved in step 1. Browse for the data file and then click Open.
In the Select MLS pictures folder section, click Browse to load the picture file you saved in step 1. Browse for the file and then click OK.
Click Upload MLS Data.

The MLS Search Results screen appears.
