The Contact Look-up portlet appears on the right sidebar of the screen whenever your current screen could potentially involve using contact or property information, such as composing an email message or creating a presentation for a contact.
Note: The Contact Look-up has two different modes. The mode that accompanies a given screen depends on the exact purpose of the screen. If you are creating a CMA, the Select Recipient screen will include the Contact Look-up in Properties mode, since the point of the screen is to choose the subject property for the CMA presentation. If you are composing an email message, then the contact's property details are irrelevant, and are excluded from the display for the sake of higher performance.
