Printing Postcards and Labels

Once a postcard/label template and contact are linked within an activity, you can preview the fully merged correspondence item or print it. You can print the item when you are adding the activity, performing a mail out, or print the item once the activity has been saved (see below). This differs from printing the actual postcard/label template (without contact information merged in) which can be done from the Template Library.

tip_icon2.gif Tip: You can print multiple postcards and labels using the Mass Print feature. For more information, see "Performing Mass Actions on Activities".

To print a postcard or label:

Note: To preview/print your correspondence items, you will be required to have the freely available Adobe Reader.

  1. Open the Activities Summary screen. How?triangle.gif

Note: If you do not see any postcard or label activities in your All Activities view, change the Type drop-down filter to show only your postcards or only your labels.

  2. Click the PDF pfd_icon.jpg icon for the postcard/label activity you want to print.

tip_icon2.gif Tip: You can also print from the Activity Details screen by clicking the Print Preview action link.

  3. Ensure that you have the appropriate postcard or label paper sizes in your printer. If printing postcards, skip to step 5.

  4. If printing a label, the Print Labels dialog box appears:

    1. In the Starting Position section, click a label to select where to begin printing. The starting position is colored light green.

    2. Use the drop-down list to select how many Copies Per Contact you want to print.

    3. Click Print.

  5. From the Preview Activity screen, click the Print print.png icon to display the Print dialog box.

  6. Make your selections and click the OK button to print the job.

tip_icon2.gif Tip: Don't forget to mark the activity as "complete" after you have finished the print job to remove it from your outstanding activity lists.
