Top Producer's Email feature contains an easy-to-use email application which has the additional benefit of being tightly integrated with the rest of 8i's features. Once you have set up your email account(s), you can configure your email settings and begin using the powerful features to send and receive email from within 8i.
8i's email functionality can be divided into two distinctly different sets of features: Inbox and Mass Email.
The Inbox (and Compose Email feature) is a normal web-based email application with which you can send and receive email, store draft emails, download or include attachments, etc. It is essentially the same as any other web-based email application with the added bonus of allowing you to work with your 8i contact database.
Note: If you have a Top Producer Outlook Connector license, you will still be able to view and search the contents of the Inbox, in addition to creating folders and moving/sorting mail, but all message composition tasks will be routed through Microsoft Outlook.
The Mass Email feature is a marketing tool that combines the email templates from your Marketing Email Library with the marketing and communications features of Top Producer 8i. Whenever you select an "Email All" function (e.g. from the Listing Parties tab or the Closing Parties tab), create an Email Activity, or send a flyer, presentation or service report via email, the Mass Email feature is used.
Other than minor differences in their message composition screens, the main way that the two email functions differ is in how they handle "sent" messages. The Inbox stores all of your sent messages in its Sent Items folder; the Mass Email feature stores sent items as Sent Email Activities in the activity history of every contact the email has been sent to.
