The Mass Email feature is a marketing tool that combines the email templates from your Marketing Library with the marketing and communications features of Top Producer 8i. Whenever you select an "Email All" function (e.g. from the Listing Parties tab or the Closing Parties tab), create an Email Activity, or send a flyer or presentation via email, the Mass Email feature is used.
The Mass Email screen's features differ from those of the Inbox's Compose Email screen in a number of ways:
The Mass Email screen always includes the option to change the template being used. Note that doing so will erase any changes you've made to the current instance of the original template.
In addition to the Insert Marketing Link option that the Mass Email screen shares with the Compose Email screen, the Mass Email screen has an Insert Merge Code option that allows you to insert any merge code (picture or text) available in the 8i system.
Other than minor differences in their message composition screens, the main way that the two email functions differ is in how they handle "sent" messages. The Inbox stores all of your sent messages in its Sent Items folder; the Mass Email feature stores sent items as Sent Email Activities in the activity history of every contact the email has been sent to.
