Setting Up Lead Alerts

Once you have set up your lead providers, alerts can be sent to your mobile phone each time a lead is received in 8i. You can receive lead alerts via email and/or SMS text messages. After receiving a lead alert, the lead appears in the Sales Pipeline portlet on the Dashboard.

Notes:

You will only receive lead alerts when leads are sent from lead-providing web sites to Top Producer 8i. Lead alerts will not be sent when leads are manually entered into the system.
Depending on your provider, you may be charged for receiving text messages. Contact your provider for more information on your current plan.

To set up lead alerts:

Open the Lead Setup subtab. How?
1. From the [User name] menu in the top right, select Settings. Example:
2. Click the Contacts tab, and then click the Lead Setup subtab.
Click in the Lead Alert area to switch to edit mode.
Set the Enable Lead Alerts option to Yes.
To receive lead alerts via SMS text messages, complete the following:

Wireless Carrier: Select your provider.
Mobile Phone Number: Specify your area code and mobile phone number (excluding hyphens).

To receive lead alerts via email, specify your Email Address.
If you want to send a test message to ensure your setup is correct, click Send Test Message.

A text message and/or email is sent to the number/email address you specified.

Click Save Lead Alert.
