Setting Up Duplicate Contact Checking

Top Producer 8i can perform automatic duplicate contact checking to prevent you from accidentally creating more than one contact record for a single contact.

When activated, any contacts entered while adding listings, closings, referrals, etc. will be checked against your existing contact database using the contact's name and contact information (i.e. address information is not compared).

To activate duplicate contact checking:

1. Open the Contacts Setup subtab. How?

   1. From the [User name] menu in the top right, select Settings. Example:

      

   2. Click the Contacts tab.

   3. Click the Contacts Setup subtab.

2. Click the Edit Contact Settings action link.

3. Select the Yes radio button for the Always Check for Duplicate Contacts? option.

4. Click the Save Contact Settings button.
