Creating a Marketing Link

Marketing links are created:

• Automatically by Top Producer 8i as part of the publishing process

• When you publish a presentation or flyer. When you publish a flyer, a CMA, an HMR, or a Community Report, a marketing link to it is added to a category.

• Manually from the Marketing Link Summary screen. These can be marketing links to your Website or any URL. Steps on how to manually create a marketing link are detailed below.

To manually create a marketing link:

1. Open the Marketing Links summary screen. How?

   • From the Main Menu bar, go to Marketing > Marketing Link Library.

2. Click the Create New Link action link.

3. From the Create New Link in-line form, select a category for the new link and define its values:

   • Name: The value you will see and will select from when you Insert a Marketing Link into an email message.

   • Link Text: This is the link text that will be inserted into the email message.

   • URL: The Internet address of the marketing link (starting with "http://", "ftp://", or "https://", depending on the site to which you are linking). To ensure accuracy, open a browser window, go to the site, and cut and paste the contents of the browser's address bar into the URL field. For published presentations and flyers, this URL link cannot be modified.

   • Description: This is the description for the marketing link to help you quickly identify it in the Marketing Links summary screen.

4. Click the Save button to save the link.
