Disabling Social Media Integration

If you no longer want the ability to post updates to your account, and view your contacts' profiles and posts, you can disable social media integration by deleting your account information from 8i.

Alternatively, if you no longer want to view a single contact's profile and posts, you can simply remove the link between 8i and the contact's social media account.

To disable social media integration:

  1. Open the Social Media Setup subtab. How?triangle.gif
  2. In the Social Media Profiles section, click Remove [account type], and then click Yes when prompted.

  3. Social media integration for this account is disabled. You can no longer post updates to this account and view contacts' social media activity for this account type from within 8i.

To disable social media integration for a single contact:

  1. Open the Contact Record. How?triangle.gif

  2. Click the Summary tab.

  3. In the bottom right, click the appropriate tab and then click the sm_unlink_icon.png Unlink icon. For example, to disable social media integration for a contact's Facebook account, click the Facebook tab and then click sm_unlink_icon.png Unlink.

  4. Click Yes when prompted.

  5. The link to the contact's social media account is removed, and you can no longer view this contact's profile, interests and posts from within 8i.
