Using "Snap to Guides"

"Snap to Guidelines" automatically aligns objects, such as text and picture boxes, with your guidelines.

Note: This topic does not apply to email templates.

To use Snap to Guidelines:

1. Open the Edit Personal Copy screen. How?

   1. From the Main Menu bar, click the Marketing icon.

   2. Click the [Template Type] Library link in the appropriate portlet.

   3. Select a personal category from the Show Category drop-down list.

   4. For presentations, flyers or postcards, hover your mouse over the template, and then click the Edit [Pages/Flyer/Postcards] link.

   Or

   For Letters/Envelopes/Labels, click the name of the template.

2. For presentation templates, click Edit Page. Otherwise, proceed to step 3.

3. Click the Preferences icon to view your current template preference settings and ensure than Show Rulers, Show Guides and Snap to Guides check boxes are all selected.

4. Move your cursor over a ruler and click on the ruler to insert a guideline.

   • To adjust a guideline, hover the mouse pointer over the guideline marker (in the ruler). Your mouse cursor will change to a double-ended arrow. Simply click and drag the arrow pointer to adjust the guideline.

   • To remove a guideline, hover the mouse pointer over the guideline marker on the ruler. The pointer will change to a double-ended arrow. Click the guideline to remove it.

5. Select a text box or picture frame. When you move one of these objects close to a guideline, it will automatically "snap" into alignment with that guideline.

   Tip: If you have guidelines defined on both the horizontal and vertical axes, you can snap an object to one guideline, and then slide it along the guideline until it snaps to the guideline on the opposing axis.
