Using Guidelines

Guidelines provide you with a way to align objects and page elements on the page. Guidelines are horizontal and/or vertical dotted lines that appear across the page within the Top Producer Editor, but won't appear when the template is printed.

Note: This topic does not apply to email templates.

To apply guidelines:

  1. Open the Edit Personal Copy screen. How?triangle.gif

  2. For presentation templates, click Edit Page. Otherwise, proceed to step 3.

  3. Move your cursor over a ruler and click on the ruler to insert a guideline.

    Tip: If Rulers are not visible, or if a guideline does not appear when you click on a ruler, click the Preferences wp_preferences_icon.jpg icon and ensure that both the Show Rulers and Show Guides checkboxes are selected.

You can add as many vertical and horizontal guidelines as you want.

  1. To adjust a guideline, hover the mouse pointer over the guideline marker in the ruler). Your mouse cursor will change to a double-ended arrow. Simply click and drag the arrow pointer to adjust the guideline.

  2. To remove a guideline, hover the mouse pointer over the guideline marker on the ruler. The pointer will change to a double-ended arrow. Click the guideline and it will be removed.
